Creative Director and Cofounder - Planet Propaganda
Dana is creative director and cofounder of Planet Propaganda. Founded in 1989 as a traditional graphic design firm, it has broadened its approach over the years to include advertising and interactive media. Dana and his partners, Kevin Wade and John Besmer, hail from the fork-in-the-toaster school of communication, an approach which has earned Planet Propaganda the affection of such clients as Gary Fisher Bicycles, Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches, Blue Note Records, and Appleton Papers. When not designing, he spends his time rearranging his basement to make room for his collection of letterpress equipment. Though his heart belongs to print, Lytle also professes to love the smell of a freshly launched website.
Georgene Pomplun has enjoyed a long and varied career in design and art direction. She has worked as the art director for NBC in Champaign-Urbana, art director for the University of Illinois' Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, then in Chicago at a small advertising agency as a designer, for a large design firm as a creative director, and then for an even larger book publisher as the creative director. Moving to Madison, she was a senior art director for Pleasant Company (now American Girl), an art director for Lands' End, and the art director and production manager for Guild.com. Her great strengths are typography and color, and her ability to art direct large and complex location photo shoots, of which she's done many. Currently she works for the UW Chancellor as Official Functions Coordinator, which in fact is exactly like art directing all of those shoots. Her passion is oil painting, and her work is carried by Fanny Garver Gallery in Madison and Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Door County. She lives in an old farmhouse out in the country with her husband Tom and their dog Mojo.
Senior Interactive Designer - Hiebing
If the devil is in the details, hand Jorel a pitchfork! It's his eye for extra touches that separate the campaigns and branding and identity work he does from all the clutter. A spinning flower decal here, a mini cartoon rocket ship icon there, Jorel has lent his interactive and design expertise to a wide variety of clients including flair4all, Virent, City of Madison's BioAg Gateway, Culver's, Kinetico, Schneider National and Flatt Cola. He's also taught courses in interactive design at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and is a member of Design Madison. When Jorel is not researching the latest in innovative design or downing Monster Energy Drinks, you can find him perfecting his chili recipe or practicing ping pong so he can beat Dave Florin (the president of Hiebing)—again.
