Why Interactive?
Interactive Design
In its current form, it has existed since the mid-nineties. Recently interactivity has deviated and is no longer considered a component of print design. Often referred to as "New Media", "Web", or even "IT", one thing is clear, confusion and perhaps frustration surrounds those who are not in the know.
Web Masters, Web Developers, Web Gurus, UI Designers, CSS junkies, Flashers, and an endless amount of acronyms have followed since Interactivity found us. Who has time? For some, this constantly evolving medium is too fast or complicated to follow. The undertaking of keeping up, is beyond the attention span of most.
While it is true, interactive is evolving on a daily basis, the methodology remains constant. The goal, is shared with all other mediums, to engage, inform and inspire. DMi was founded to speak to that methodology, rather than the granular and ever-changing universe. We want to overcome the ambivalence that surrounds interactive design in Madison.
Madison has already excelled in promoting and producing other mediums, but we have some ground to make up with interactivity. DMi will clear the confussion by educating, and demonstrating the effectiveness of interactive media.
