How To Make Things Happen

By: Brody Rose

Brody Rose, founder of madisonhiphop.com, started with an idea and turned it into an element of Madison culture. The website began in an art class as a web design project, but it didn't take long for Rose to see opportunities to turn this idea into a community of artists and musicians. It involved networking, relationship building, talking to the media and exploring many avenues to promote hip hop music in a positive light.

Rose became adept at getting his name and face all over Madison. Come listen to him share what he knows about self-promotion, networking and finding opportunities in all sorts of places. He will share his ideas on how to encourage people to come to you as the expert in your area.

  5. Sealing the deal (dead-fish handshakes... please don't.)

Heightened Awareness & Communication for Work and Life

By: Doug Voegtle

Ready for your big closeup (i.e., interview)? You may need to attend this workshop, it's a playfully active lesson offered by Doug Voegtle (improvisation instructor with the famed Players Workshop of the Second City, Chicago).

Get a crash course on how to use your fear, listen and respond your best. "Whether job hunting or asking someone on a date, we constantly market ourselves. No matter how much we pre-plan what to say, life throws us a curve. Improv helps you hit the curve balls," says Doug.

Get ready to think and feel on your feet!
